On Sundays I usually volunteer at SHARE in downtown Los Angeles but today was Alex’s birthday so she chose another local private group based out of Silverlake that believes in the idea that the government should spend the budget set aside for military warfare on feeding our citizens instead. Food Not Bombs is privately funded and works with local farmers from the Hollywood Farmers Market who donate fresh local produce every Sunday. Their generous donations are cooked by volunteers from scratch and provide hundreds of healthy homemade meals for anyone who wants them. Today we made rice and lentils with garlic over rice, hearty veggie stew & spring mix salad with fresh squeezed orange vinaigrette.

You can find us every Sunday evening after 7pm in the middle of Pershing Square and after 8pm on Skid Row.
